SVSS objective was to abolish child labour by universalizing elementary education. This includes enrolling and retaining all children aged 6 to 14 years in school, rescuing working children and ensuring their enrolment in full-time formal education. We aim to strengthen the bridge education system to motivate dropouts, child laborers, and neglected girl children to return to formal schooling. Furthermore, our focus is on repatriating and providing social, economic, educational, and psychosocial rehabilitation to children withdrawn from work. We enhanced the capacity of government duty bearers to take long-term ownership of the scheme, ensuring its sustainability. Additionally, we aimed to create widespread awareness about the evils of child labour and mobilize the community to build consensus against its ill effects. This includes sensitizing parents and the community to recognize the importance of children’s education. We established links between vulnerable families and social security schemes. Lastly, we implemented the state convergent Plan of Action on Child Labour, as notified by the social welfare department, to prioritize child welfare. This project was supported by Terre des hommes, Germany with 350 beneficiaries.
