National Child Labour Project Scheme/ The International labour Organization Program

This Project was supported under NCLP Scheme. The project goal was to eliminate all forms of child labour by identifying and withdrawing all children in the Project Area from such labour. SVSS aimed to prepare these children for mainstream education and provided vocational training opportunities. Additionally, SVSS ensured the convergence of services provided by different government departments/agencies for the benefit of these children and their families. Furthermore, the project is to contribute to the withdrawal of all adolescent workers from hazardous occupations/processes and facilitate their skilling and integration into appropriate occupations. This was achieved through the identification and withdrawal of all adolescent workers from hazardous occupations/processes, as well as by providing vocational training opportunities through existing skill development schemes. The awareness was raised among the stakeholders and target communities, and provide orientation to NCLP and other functionaries on the issues of ‘Child Labour’ and ’employment of adolescent workers in hazardous occupations and processes’. Proper monitoring of child labour, reporting and tracking was done by SVSS. Total 400 beneficiaries were supported under this project.
